Deuces Wild Video Poker Strategies

Less than 1% of all the hands played in any session of Deuces Wild will include the same five cards. More than 60% of hands played will include only 2 cards before the Draw. If you are dealt a winning hand on your first deal, you should keep it 99% of the time. Why throw away a winner in the hopes of getting a winning hand consisting of 5 new cards? Doesn't sound logical right? More often than not, it isn't. However, there is that isolated 1 percentile that may just work in your favour if you discard a 5-card winning hand on the initial deal. The only times we recommend you taking this chance is when you have 4 cards to a Straight Flush or 4 cards to a Royal Flush. Don't even think about discarding a pair of Jacks in the hopes of hitting a Royal Flush with 3 cards. The odds don't work out in that fashion, because most often a Pair can be improved to 2 Pairs or even 3 of a Kind. Hey, you may even get really lucky and hit 4 of a Kind.

Enough supposition, let's learn the Basic Strategy for the Standard Game of Deuces Wild. Here's what to do when you get these hands:

  • 4 Deuces - Hold all cards. There's no better hand than this.
  • 3 Deuces - Hold the deuces. If you have a Wild Royal Flush or 5 of a Kind, then hold all cards.
  • 2 Deuces - Hold the deuces. If, however, you have 4 cards to a Royal Flush or 4 cards to a 4 of a Kind, then you should hold all cards.
  • One Deuce - Keep all paying hands EXCEPT 4cards to a Royal Flush. Keep 4 cards to a Straight Flush, 3 cards to a Royal Flush. Otherwise keep the Deuce only.
  • No Deuce - Hold all playing hands EXCEPT hold 4 cards to a Royal Flush in preference to a lesser paying hand.
  • Hold a Straight Flush with 4 cards to the straight.
  • Hold a Royal Flush with 3 cards to the royal.
  • Hold a Pair.
  • Hold a Flush with 4 cards to the flush.
  • Hold a Straight with 4 consecutive cards to the straight.
  • Hold 3 cards to a Straight Flush.
  • Hold any 2 of 10, Jack, Queen, or King IF they are all in the same suit.<'li>

If you are not dealt any cards/hands listed above, then Draw 5 new cards. Check out the Deuces Wild Paytable at Casino Tropez. Notice how a Natural Royal Flush pays out at maximum 4,000 coins. It pays this much because it only pays out once every 40,000 hands. This is just an average, however, and is not set in stone. Video Poker, no matter which game you play, can get expensive. Taking into account the example above, if you play $1.25 per hand at 400 hands per hour, you'll be dropping in $500 into the Video Poker machine every single hour. Now, the machine holds an average of $12.50 per hour, so if you play 400 hands in that hour, and, with a hold of $12.50 per hour, you're looking at a loss of about $1,000 in only 1 hour. You could break even if you hit a Royal Flush, but remember, theser are only hit once every 40,000 hands. The only way you can hope to break even if you're playing Deuces Wild is to follow our Video Poker Strategies above. Another way is to exploit the Welcome Bonus offered at the Casino.
